Phew! WE MADE IT THROUGH
SUMMER CAMP TOGETHER!!!!
On the much anticipated
August 13th, we filed car by car, family by family, athlete by athlete
to Riverside Park for the beginning of Summer Camp. We distributed
equipment, attended Parents' meetings, signed up for
volunteer opportunities, made friends, enjoyed the awesome Indian
Summer, ran laps, did drills, learned
plays, and CONDITIONED...CONDITIONED...CONDITIONED! We received our
positions, game jerseys, and became teams...BOTH on and off the field.
Perhaps, in retrospect, it
is this which we will remember most. Perhaps when the leaves have fallen
and the snow covers our well-cared-for-much-loved field...when the sore
stomachs from sit-ups have eased and the sweat has dried...it may very
well be the TEAM we became that we remember most.
Whether you drove a child
to practice...or were the child in practice him/herself....WE ARE ALL TO
BE CONGRATULATED FOR MAKING IT THROUGH SUMMER CAMP!!! Wildcat summer
camp is a treasured endurance test all unto itself...and those who made
it through to the other side have even more Wildcat Blood running
through their veins! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?!?!?
Now that we have survived
this first battle, may we all settle into the PASSION of the REGULAR
SEASON and keep our athletes SAFE, SUPPORTED, and SUCCESSFUL!!!!
