Mission of the Wildcats
The Wildcat Youth Football and Cheerleading Association is a not for profit organization developed to provide athletic activities for community youth in the sports of football and cheerleading in a safe and positive athletic environment. The Kearsarge Wildcats have been organized since 1996 developing young athletes to compete in the sport of football and entertain through the sport of cheerleading. The Wildcat’s territory ranges from Hopkinton/Contoocook, Hillsboro, Warner, Sutton and Bradford and north through Newbury, Sunapee, New London, Wilmot, and Springfield.
The program consists of several team levels. There are two levels at Seventh and Eighth grade, or Middle School Varsity and Junior Varsity athletes, and compete against teams participating in the Granite State Football League (GSFL) throughout Central and Southern New Hampshire. The Midgets team is comprised of Sixth grade level athletes and the Jr. Midgets comprised of Fourth and Fifth grade level athletes and compete against teams participating in the Snowbelt League of Central Vermont and New Hampshire. The organization offers Cheerleading in the form of three cheer squads providing instruction in cheering and tumbling to foster sportsmanship, enthusiasm in a monitored athletic environment. As an introduction, Wildcat Football and Cheerleading offers an entry level intramural Touch Football program for First thru Third grades and a Cheerleading Skills Camp. All levels focus on the physical, mental and skill development of participants through team athletics.
The total organization provides safe, supervised and healthy outdoor setting for the instruction of sports activities to almost 200 youth participants annually. All teams practice and play games at Riverside Park in Warner.
